Gaya: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel arrested two suspected child traffickers and rescued seven adolescent boys roaming in and around the Gaya railway junction under the ongoing ‘Operation Nanhe Farishte' on Saturday morning.
RPF Gaya post in-charge inspector, Banarasi Yadav, said, "The RPF personnel intercepted Dharmendra Manjhi of Tankuppa and Manowar Hussain of Guraru in Gaya near gate number one of the Gaya junction as five adolescent boys were accompanying the duo. When interrogated, they confessed that the boys, including three aged 12 years and other two 13 and 14 years, respectively, were going to Jaipur with them for working in bangle making factory. The boys were offered a monthly remuneration of Rs 5000. However, family members of the boys denied of having knowledge about place of work and the factory, where the boys were going."
"After registering a case on the statement of sub-inspector Javed Ekbal, the two persons were handed over to the govt rail police and the five rescued boys were sent to the child help desk, Gaya."
"In a similar drive, two boys including one of Chandauli district in Uttar Pradesh and another from Bhojpur district in Bihar, aged 14 and 12 years, respectively, were seen roaming on the platform number one of Gaya junction on Saturday morning. When intercepted by the RPF personnel to enquire about their motive of travel, the boys confessed that they had left home without informing parents or the family members. "The boys were handed over to the child help desk so that they do not fell into the trap of child traffickers and reach home safely."
"On Thursday too, three adolescents, two of Dobhi and one of Behra police station in Gaya, were intercepted, while roaming on the platform number one at Gaya junction and handed over to the railway child help desk. These three boys too had left home for going to Bhatinda in Punjab in search of job. Proper counselling of all the rescued boys was also done to make them aware about the traffickers," the RPF inspector said.
