Nepal's Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba confirmed the death of Nepali national Sudip Neupane in the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir, also injuring his mother.
NEW DELHI: Nepal’s Foreign minister Arzu Rana Deuba on Wednesday confirmed that a Nepali national was among those killed in the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir on Tuesday.
The victim, identified as Sudip Neupane of Butwal-11, Kalikanagar in Rupandehi district, was visiting the region with his mother, who was also injured in the attack.
“I am deeply saddened by the death of Sudip Neupane in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. I offer my heartfelt condolences to his family and wish a speedy recovery to his injured mother,” the minister said in a statement on X.

Deuba added that the Government of Nepal strongly condemns the “cruel and inhuman act” and stands in solidarity with the people and Government of India. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in touch with Indian authorities for further details, she said.
The terror attack, which struck Pahalgam — a key tourist destination in south Kashmir — on Tuesday, left multiple casualties and marks one of the deadliest attacks since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah flew to Pahalgam early Wednesday to pay tribute to the victims. Coffins of the deceased were brought to Srinagar airport amid heavy security.
Search operations are underway to track down the terrorists responsible. The attack has led to heightened security in the region, with deserted streets replacing what is usually a vibrant summer tourist spot. Several organisations have also called for a Jammu bandh in protest.
