Excise seizes 16g of ganja from film stuntman

T'puram: Excise department seized 16g of ganja from a Tamil Nadu-based film stuntman during a raid at a hotel in the city on Thursday morning.
The arrested person, Maheshwaran, 34, of Velloor, was staying in this room as part of a movie shoot for the last couple of days.
The joint raid was conducted by state excise enforcement squad, Thiruvananthapuram excise IB and Thiruvananthapuram excise enforcement and anti-narcotic special squad based on a tip-off.
"We seized several polythene covers and a weighing machine from his room. It is suspected that the accused is a supplier of drugs on film sets. His mobile phone has been seized for further probe," said the excise team.
Several people are under surveillance and more raids will be conducted on film sets to curb drug usage. Since quantity of the seized drug was small, he was released on station bail after recording the arrest. TNN
