Hari Ka Om, featuring
Anshuman Jha,
Soni Razdan, and
Raghubir Yadav, is set for its European premiere at the UK Asian Film Festival 2025. The film was showcased as the centerpiece gala screening on May 7 at London’s Regent Street Cinema, a notable venue known for its cinematic history.
Directed by Harish Vyas,
Hari Ka Om has already been screened at festivals across Australia, North America, Canada, and India.
The film explores a father-son dynamic rooted in a small-town Indian setting, addressing generational conflicts and the importance of emotional understanding across age groups.
Anshuman Jha describes the film as one that reflects common familial issues, emphasizing how emotional missteps can occur regardless of age. The project marks the third collaboration between Jha and Vyas, following previous works including
Hum Bhi Akele, where Jha played a homosexual man, and
Lakadbaggha, an action film about an animal-loving vigilante. In
Hari Ka Om, he takes on the role of a middle-class boy from Bhopal, offering a different aspect of his range as an actor.
Vyas notes Jha's holistic grasp of filmmaking and credits the chemistry between Jha and veteran actor Raghubir Yadav as a central element of the film. Alongside Soni Razdan and Ayesha Kapur, the cast contributes to a story that navigates intergenerational relationships and emotional nuance.
The film’s inclusion in the UK Asian Film Festival adds to its ongoing presence on the international festival circuit.
