The age-old idea of hero-driven films has somehow taken a backseat these days. Accept it or not, content has become the new hero now. While a number of commercial potboilers have tanked at the box office content-driven films proved to be runaway hits.
However,
Jeet whose latest ‘Panther’ hit the theatres ahead of the Independence Day feels it’s nothing but a cliché.
Although, the Tolly heartthrob admits good content is proving to be the key factor for a film’s success.
“For me, it’s a cliché, but we all know it is a timeless cliché. People used to say this 30 years ago, and people still say it these days. But we have to admit, it’s true. Content is king. I was only a newcomer when ‘Sathi’ became a runaway hit. Yes, Sathi had a superb content. We still call it a beautiful film. More than a hero, heroine, director or a producer — it was really a wonderful film. And then, in every five or 10 years, we tend to emphasize on that,” explains Jeet who plays a RAW agent in
Anshuman Pratyush directed ‘Panther’.
‘Panther’ which also stars
Shraddha Das in the lead, explores the root of
terrorism which has become the biggest enemy of mankind now, as we often fall prey to their inhuman acts. This action is the untold story of RAW agent Panther, one of the best ever to have served our country. The film follows Panther on a solo mission to rout a terrorist group, and his journey across countries through perilous situations.
