Leena Gangopadhyay, one of the directors of the upcoming film ‘Sanjhbati’, was apparently not convinced of casting
Dev in a simple down to earth character like Chadu. But with sere dedication and sincerity the Tollywood hunk come out of his superstar image winning everyone’s heart as Chandu.
What Leena liked the most in Dev is he has no ego. “We are newcomers compared to his experience in the industry.
He could have easily treated us so but he did not. Secondly, he is extremely jovial and he always made sure to lift the mood on the floor. He loves to have fun and never gets tired of working," said the director.
According to Leena Gangopadhyay, what makes Dev different from other celebrity actors is his zeal for learning. “Despite working in so many films, he listened to our each and every instruction for dialogue delivery, repeatedly. I sincerely feel that achievers have certain good qualities and Dev is no exception in this regard," she added.
Beside Dev, ‘Sanjhbati’ also stars Soumitra Chattopadhyay, Lily Chakraborty,
Paoli Dam and Sohini Sengupta in the lead.
Produced by Bengal Talkies, ‘Sanjhbati’ is the story of two elderly and lonely parents, played by
Soumitra Chatterjee and Lily Chakraborty, who are neglected by their aloof children. While Phuli (Paoli) takes care of Sulekha (Lily Chakraborty), Chadu (Dev) is with Chhana Dadu (Soumitra Chatterjee).
The family drama is releasing on December 20.
