So, a busy year ahead for Shubhro!
In ‘Ahaa Re’, Shubhro shows his acting credentials alongside top actors like Paran Bandhopadhayay and Rituparna Sengupta. The young actor now wants to step out from his comfort zone and try his luck in different genres.
‘When you share screen space with seasoned actors like Rituparna Sengupta, Paran Bandopadhyay and Arifin Shuvoo in your very first film it’s nothing but a golden opportunity to shine and enjoy your learning curve. That’s what ‘Ahaa Re’ was for me. And Ranjan da has always guided me. It was a great experience to be a part of Ahaa Re’. Now, I want to come out of my comfort zone and grab the challenges of playing difficult characters,” says Shubhro while speaking about his debut film.

In his next, Avijatrik, he plays Bimalendu, the long lost friend of Apu. “My character is the younger brother of Leela (Arpita Chatterjee), a long-lost friend of Apu. He is from a zaminder family, a final year student leader from a reputed university in the pre-Independence era. Bimalendu dedicates his life to serve his country, instead of leading a privileged life. It was a great experience working such acting powerhouses. Most of my scenes are with
Arjun Chakraborty and Arpita Chatterjee. I never felt I am into my second film only. They are so down to earth. Arpita di is so humble and helpful, I learned a lot from her. And Arjun is a great guy. After the shooting it was more fun and frolic and memories to relish,” recalls Shubhro.
It will be interesting to see the talented actor playing a period character like Bimalendu. In ‘Ahaa Re’ he had the boy next door look. But in ‘Abhijatrik’ the scenario changes completely. His first look that we have seen from the film seems to be of an angry young man who has a lot of spark inside him and he channels it to help his country.
