Percussionist Bickram Ghosh is super excited about Subhrajit Mitra’s ‘Abhijatrik’ and said that he has composed the music of the film with utmost care and sincerity. Bickram said that the film is based on Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay’s cult character Apu.

It was Satyajit Ray’s 98th birth anniversary and Arpita Chatterjee posted a picture paying her homage to the master filmmaker.

Bengali movie buffs will soon relive the world of Apu — the central character of Satyajit Ray’s ‘Apu Trilogy’ in Subhrajit Mitra’s period film ‘Abhijatrik — The Wanderlust of Apu’.

The shooting has already started and it’s being shot in Benaras, Gorubathan, Taki, Bolpur and Kolkata. Subhrajit is planning to recreate Kolkata in the year 1939 in black and white.

The talented actor will also be seen in a Tollywood film ‘Abhijatrik’ being directed by Subhrajit Mitra.

Director Subhrajit and the producers of the film Gaurang Films have released an official statement confirming the news.

Once the nationwide lockdown is over, shoot for an upcoming short film will kick-start. Titled ‘Mamata’, it’s a slice-of-a-life tale of a mother-son relationship. While Mamata Shankar will be seen as the mother, talented actor Ishaan Mazumder will play the son.

Arifin Shuvoo is also set for one of the toughest roles in his career, the iconic Apu in ‘Abhijatrik’.
