Touted to be the first Bengali movie made on the subject of passive
euthanasia, ‘Pupa’ was supposed to hit the theatres today on July 20, however, due to reasons best known to the makers, the release date of the Indrasis Acharya directorial has been pushed back.
There has been no update about the next possible release date. Indrasis took to his Twitter handle and said that he will be announcing the new date soon.

The family drama has an ensemble cast including popular actors like Rahul Banerjee, Sudiptaa Chakraborty, Pradip Mukherjee and director
Kamaleshwar Mukherjee.
The film tells the story of Subhro (Rahul Banerjee) who returns to India when his mother passes away. When he is getting ready to head back to the US, his father (Pradip Mukherjee) suffers from a cerebral attack. Subhro’s uncle (Kamaleshwar Mukherjee) advises him to leave behind the emotion and go back to the US. His girlfriend, who is starting her integrated Ph.D. in US, is now left with no other choice but to leave him and go ahead.Sudiptaa Chakraborty plays Subhro’s sister in the film. In this turmoil, a shocking incident leads to the climax of the story.
