While the audience has several theories talking about the intriguing team-up, there is yet another much-talked-about speculation about Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel's MCU absence since Avengers: Endgame.
The hot topic of discussion was finally answered by Larson, who said that she could only see it as Carol becoming a workaholic, and losing touch with her heart, her family and friends.

Since her last appearance in Endgame, Carol has been flying through the universe. She was, however, mentioned in the latest Marvel series 'Secret Invasion', giving way to rumours that she could make a cameo or even feature in a post-credit scene that serves as a launchpad for 'The Marvels' story.

Revealing an interesting tidbit about the character's connection with the show was 'Secret Invasion' star Samuel L. Jackson who said in a statement, "He's been calling her, and she's off in galaxies far, far away. She's like, 'Fury, why are you calling me? I told you not to use this [number].' He's like, 'You gave it to me, so I'm gonna use it. And I'm calling you because I need your help!'"

The teaser trailer that dropped early this year, gave fans a glimpse of all that is set to unfold. The film will Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel and Monica on a cosmic quest to save the world, while their powers inexplicably get intertwined with each other. However, the clip did not touch upon how the three women come together to forge one epic team or how they will untangle their power mixup.
Explaining why the three characters, touted to be the strongest heroes in the MCU, need to come together, Brie said, "I understand that feeling of being afraid to let go of control, of being afraid of passing on responsibility to others. You almost want to take on all of the burden yourself. So, I think this is an incredible metaphor for learning how to be in a team. It's a very clear example that no one person can do it all. You need all kinds of skill sets, all kinds of people with different viewpoints and different backgrounds in order to save the world"

Debuting a new look into the photon-blasting trio of 'The Marvels', Marvel Studios offered a glimpse into the highly anticipated film by releasing stills featuring Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) along with returning character Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). The images also tease the mysterious returns of both the Kree and the Skrulls.
