Going by the trailer, the film will chronicle the Belgian sleuth Poirot’s Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer that turns into a murder mystery when a picture-perfect couple’s honeymoon is tragically cut short. Set against breathtaking landscapes, this tale of unbridled passion and incapacitating jealousy features enough wicked twists and turns to leave audiences guessing.

'Death on the Nile' was previously adapted for the screen in 1978 with Maggie Smith, Mia Farrow and Bette Davis, among others, and won the Oscar for Best Costume Design at the 51st edition of the award ceremony.
Although Ali Fazal makes a blink and you miss it appearance, he is reportedly set to change the way Indians are portrayed on the big screen.
Speaking about his project, Ali said in a report to Mumbai Mirror, “I’ve read the novel and had watched the earlier adaptation a long time ago. It was a great ensemble and now we are revisiting that great masterpiece. I feel blessed because it’s in Sir Kenneth Branagh’s hands.”

Director Kenneth, who was recently in the midst of promoting his film with Christopher Nolan - ‘Tenet’, got talking about Fazal in an interview to PTI. The actor-filmmaker was asked about Fazal and he had nothing but the best things to say about him.
"Ali was a joy to work with, an absolute joy. He's a total pro. He's a real details man. He was completely caught up in how the character looked, sounded and was able to be very precise, but also very playful. He could improvise when I asked him to improvise. He has a strong sense of humour. He is energetic and physically very adroit, so he was involved in both dancing and in action pieces. He was a fantastic ensemble player,” Kenneth said.
‘Death on the Nile’ is slated to hit theatres abroad this October.
