New reports suggest that actress Jenny Slate was among those who raised concerns about interactions on the set of 'It Ends With Us', specifically regarding Jamey Heath, the business partner of Justin Baldoni. The revelation follows an amended lawsuit by Blake Lively, which noted that two women had filed complaints against Baldoni’s team during production.
Slate, who plays Allysa, the best friend of Blake Lively’s character Lily Bloom and sister to Baldoni’s Ryle Kincaid, reportedly took issue with an interaction involving Heath, the president of Baldoni’s production company, Wayfarer Studios.
The situation allegedly stemmed from a housing issue Slate faced while filming. According to sources, the actress was dissatisfied with the apartment she had rented but felt stuck due to a large security deposit. The matter became more complicated when Heath reportedly stepped in, offering to have Wayfarer Studios cover the costs of breaking her lease so that she could move.
While the offer itself seemed well-intentioned, it was Heath’s manner of communication that reportedly made Slate uncomfortable.
Sources claim that while discussing the arrangement, Heath repeatedly referenced Slate’s role as a mother in an intense and overly personal way. He allegedly emphasized the sacred nature of motherhood, focusing on it in a manner that felt intrusive rather than supportive.
Slate, who has one child, reportedly felt deeply uncomfortable with how the conversation unfolded. The nature of his remarks led her to file a complaint with the film’s distributor, Sony Pictures.
It remains unclear whether Slate’s complaint was officially addressed by the studio, or if any action was taken regarding Heath’s behavior.
As of now, Slate has not publicly spoken about the incident, nor has Heath responded to the allegations. The lack of official statements leaves many questions unanswered, but the situation has added to the growing scrutiny surrounding the film’s production.
The controversy comes amid Blake Lively’s ongoing legal battle, in which she claimed that multiple complaints were made against Baldoni’s team. Though the full extent of the allegations remains undisclosed, Slate is widely believed to be one of the individuals referenced in Lively’s lawsuit.
The adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel has already been the center of discussions due to its high-profile cast, passionate fan following and on-set difficulties.
Despite the controversy, 'It Ends With Us' remains one of the most anticipated films of the year, with audiences eager to see how the beloved book is brought to life on screen.
However, with ongoing discussions surrounding the working environment on set, the film’s off-screen drama may continue to draw as much attention as the film itself. It remains to be seen whether Slate, Heath, Baldoni, or Sony will address these reports in the coming weeks.
