Will Smith confirms 'Hancock 2' is in development; hints at Zendaya joining the cast

The actor confirmed that a sequel is actively in development and even dropped a casting hint, revealing that Zendaya is being considered for a role, according to Deadline.
During a livestream, Will Smith expressed his enthusiasm for the project, teasing, "There's a really cool Hancock 2 idea... We haven't even talked about it." He followed this by giving fans a sneak peek into the casting process, adding, "I'm going to give you one little piece. Zendaya [is] being approached for a role in 'Hancock 2'." This revelation has sparked widespread speculation about her potential character and how she might fit into the Hancock universe.
The original 'Hancock', directed by Peter Berg and penned by Vince Gilligan and Vy Vincent Ngo, presented a unique take on the superhero genre. Will Smith portrayed John Hancock, a reckless, alcohol-dependent superhero struggling with his forgotten past. The film also starred Charlize Theron, Jason Bateman, and Eddie Marsan, and was well-received for its unconventional approach to superhero storytelling.

Charlize Theron has also expressed interest in reprising her role, telling ComicBook in 2020, "I'll still make that movie. I would do it in a heartbeat."
