Rising to fame in the 1970s, Stone was a member of the Hip-Hop band, The Sequence. The ‘No More Rain’ singer was married to Rodney Stone aka Lil’ Rodney Cee, who was a member of the iconic Hip-Hop group, Funky Four Plus One. Married in the 1980s, the duo welcomed their daughter, Diamond in 1984. However, Angie and Rodney got divorced a few years later, according to Hindustan Times.

Veteran Promotor, Van Silk expressed his mournful feelings after learning about the demise. In a statement to AllHipHop, he said, “I thought it was from her kidney dialysis which she was going through, but it was a bad vehicle accident with 9 people in the Sprinter van coming from a show in Alabama heading back to Atlanta.” Van Silk added, “Angie will be missed especially by me because we will either text or call each other in the morning.”
Stone was one of the loved members of the Hip-hop community, while her group, The Sequence, achieved the crown of being the first all-female group signed to Sugar Hills Record. The band released three albums in the span of six years, from 1979 to 1985, including hit tracks such as ‘Funk You Up’ and ‘I Just Want You to Know.’
