Taylor Swift loses crown to Lucy Guo for self-made female billionaire under 40: Who is this tech entrepreneur?

The legendary Taylor Swift has now officially lost her title to the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire under 40, as tech entrepreneur Lucy Guo has entered the scene. At just 30 years old, Lucy Guo has become the latest and youngest woman billionaire under 40, kicking Swift off of the throne.
Lucy, with her major tech startup Scale AI, managed to achieve this feat at just age 30. The woman started the company from scratch and co-founded it at the age of 21. It has now grown immeasurably into a $25 billion business, as shared per reports by Forbes. What makes it so special is also the fact that only last year, the company was valued at $13.8 billion. They grew and rightfully observed a growth jump of over 80%!
According to the same report, the tech entrepreneur, due to a feud with his co-founder Alexandr Wang, exited the company all the way back in 2018 while still retaining a 5% stake in the company. The stake, now paid off, puts her estimate at about $1.25 billion. The entrepreneur, as per the same report, was asked about her achievements, to which she replied, saying, “I don’t really think about it much. It’s a bit wild.”
Guo, before launching her AI company, had worked in other firms, one of which was where the woman had met her co-founder for the company. After the feud and exiting the company, she launches a new venture capital firm called Backend Capital. She also invested in other startups and firms and built upon her portfolio. From a self-taught coder to a billionaire, Guo has come a long way and has made a name for herself in the industry.
According to Forbes, Taylor Swift reached the billionaire title in October 2023, and had so far maintained the status of being the youngest self-made female billionaire until Lucy Guo. The singer is currently valued at a net worth of $1.6 billion dollars, making her one of the richest music sensations in the world.
