In a rare behind-the-scenes video shared by the film’s official page, a young Sachin Tendulkar is seen attending the muhurat (inaugural shot) of the cult classic, interacting warmly with actor Aamir Khan.
The video, captioned “POV: When cricket met comedy,” celebrates the unexpected yet memorable crossover of cricket and cinema in 1991. “Andaz Apna Apna had its iconic cast. Cricket had its god. And in 1991, they shared the same stage,” the caption reads, highlighting how Tendulkar’s presence brought added star power to the film’s auspicious beginning. Karishma Kapoor on Sachin: He was a teen sensation
The moment also sparked nostalgia for actress Karisma Kapoor, one of the film’s leading ladies. In an earlier interview with Pinkvilla, Karisma fondly recalled the muhurat day and seeing a black-and-white photo from the shoot featuring her with co-star Salman Khan and director Rajkumar Santoshi. “It was my first mahurat. Back then, we had to perform a live scene and deliver our lines. I remember being so nervous,” she admitted.

She also recalled Tendulkar gracing the occasion, calling him a “teen sensation” at the time. “Everyone was thrilled to see him,” she said, emphasizing how his presence elevated the already exciting day.

‘Andaz Apna Apna’, released in 1994, remains an evergreen comedy favorite. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film featured an ensemble cast including Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, and Shakti Kapoor.
