This play gave weekend theatre goers some food for thought

Veteran Bollywood actor Aanjjan Srivastav was the star attraction of the play Aakhri Peshi, which was staged in the city on Sunday. A Hindi adaptation of Russian playwright Vladlen Dozortsev’s play The Last Appointment, by Mumtaz Nikhat, the play highlights unethical medical practices in India. The plot revolved around a health minister, Dr Kazmi who was once a successful cardiologist.As he introspects on his career, and success rate of the surgeries that defined his career, he feels a pang of conscience. Aanjjan Srivastav as Dr Kazmi, along with Sanjeeva Vats, Vishnu Prasad Mehra and Manju Sharma regaled the crowd with their nuanced performances.
