Lucknowites spent an evening all they could when Padma Shri Amir Raza Husain staged his play “The Urge” on Saturday. The who’s who of the city gathered at a five-star hotel for a high tea before the play started, where they mingled with the cast of the play and their friends.
A NAUGHTY COMEDY: A take-off from Shakespeare’s “Comedy Of Errors”, Amir was brilliantly assisted by wife
Virat as Anna, Rahul Karan Batra as Dicky, Sakshi Oberoi Bahadur as Angela, Sonia Sehrawat as Carlotta, Esha Sanyal as Victoria and Damandeep Siddhu as singer Toni Carelli, in the play.
The cheeky comedy in the play had the audience roaring in laughter. So much so that no cellphones were heard ringing during the play. Although the actors did become speechless for a second when one of the spot lights blew out and caused a shower of sparks without causing any harm.
SOME FILMY GUESTS: Director
Shimit Amin and wife Megha Ramaswamy came out from their hibernation in the city, to watch the play. The duo maintained a low profile here too and sat in the last row to enjoy the comedy.
