Kabir Khan's upcoming sports directorial '83' which narrates the historic tale of India winning the 1983 cricket world cup is already in the news for its ensemble star cast. The cast led by
Ranveer Singh, who plays the former Indian cricket team and world cup winning captain Kapil Dev.
According to the latest reports, actor
Dinker Sharma has been roped in to play cricketer Kirti Azad.
Kirti Azad was a right-hand batsman and an offspinner in the team that won the 1983 world cup. Azad e made a major contribution during the semi-final match against England in the tournament.
The film's official Twitter handle announced the news.
The team is currently training in Glasgow, Scotland and the film will go on the floors from early June. Legendary cricket Kapil Dev himself has been involved in training Ranveer Singh who is playing his role in the film.
The film also casts Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Sahil Khattar, Chirag Patil, Adinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa, Harrdy Sandhu and
Pankaj Tripathi. '83' is slated to release on April 10, 2020 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
