Lekha Washington opens up about her life with Imran Khan: 'Being mutually madly in love is a rare gift'

Imran Khan has confirmed his relationship with actress Lekha Washington a few months ago, following a five-year solo period after his separation from ex-wife Avantika Malik. Now, Lekha has shared her thoughts on their relationship, revealing the dynamics of their life together.
In an interview with Money Control, Lekha expressed how rare and precious their bond is in today’s world. "In this cynical world, to live and grow together with someone whilst being mutually madly in love is a rare gift. It is also hard work. The part that I cherish the most is our ability to talk things through and evolve into, hopefully, better versions of ourselves. The excellent posterior is a bonus," she said.
Imran, who recently discussed his transition with comedian Raunaq Rajani, revealed that he and Lekha have been dating since the COVID-19 pandemic and are now preparing to move into a new apartment together. Reflecting on the adjustment, Imran shared how living with someone after years of solitude has been a unique experience. "She brought it up! I'll be real with you, man. So, I was like, ‘Why not? It's been long enough,’” he said.

Having embraced a minimalist lifestyle during his solo years, Imran noted that adapting to cohabitation has been an amusing challenge. "The part of the thing is that I am older now and I have spent enough time getting really set in my ways. I have been living alone for the last five years, so I got super into the minimalism thing - as few things, as few objects I could possibly have at my home,” he said.

He humorously shared that his minimalist tendencies led him to have only three plates at one point. "I used to have only three plates,” he laughed, explaining that moving in with Lekha has sparked a few “conflicts” over household items. "She’s more into having different glasses for different drinks, while I was fine with my one mug,” he added, noting that their household is now filled with 15 plates, with the balance of household items “going more her way.”
