Theatre and film actress Lillette Dubeyhas bought the rights to the biography of
Zohra Sehgal and is soon headed to make a play on it.
Lillette, who has recently wrapped up shooting for an international film, "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" with Judi Dench and Maggi Smith in the cast and directed by "Shakespeare In Love" director
John Madden, is excited about her next.
"I had been very keen on taking over the biography of Zohra Sehgal.
I am looking forward to adapting her story for the stage," she says. Lillette, who is currently taking her first Hindi play, "Adhe Adhure" across various cities in the country, doesn't yet say what language would Zohra's story be in. In any case, now that this veteran theatrist has overcome the language bar with her first Hindi play, she believes language can hardly be a barrier to narrate a good story. "Doing plays in Hindi is not an easy task. The language, especially the one in "Adhe Adhure" is not
chalti Hindi, it's very refined. Yet, I wouldn't say language can become a stumbling block for an interesting story, whether it is this play or one on Zohra's life," she adds.
