Nikita Dutta reveals she shot 'Kabir Singh' half-heartedly over 'Gold': 'I would just show up on set and go with the flow...'

Nikita Dutta, known for 'Gold' and 'Kabir Singh', revealed she prepared intensely for 'Gold' but approached 'Kabir Singh' casually. Surprisingly, 'Kabir Singh' brought her more recognition. Nikita Dutta reveals she shot 'Kabir Singh' half-heartedly over 'Gold': 'I would just show up on set and go with the flow...'
Nikita Dutta started her acting journey with the 2014 film 'Lekar Hum Deewana Dil'. She gained recognition with roles in 'Gold' and 'Kabir Singh'. Her recent work includes 'The Big Bull', 'Dybbuk', and the web series 'Khakee: The Bihar Chapter'. Recently, the actress opened up about filming 'Gold' and 'Kabir Singh' at the same time.
Shooting 'Gold' vs. 'Kabir Singh'
Talking to Bollywood Bubble, Nikita shared that shooting for 'Kabir Singh' half-heartedly after shooting 'Gold'. She explained that while she was shooting for 'Gold', she underwent a lot of preparation, including dialect lessons, and genuinely thought it would be her big break that would lead to more work. However, when it came to 'Kabir Singh', she approached it with zero preparation, simply showing up on set and going with the flow.
Unexpected Outcomes
The actress added that, ironically, the outcomes of the two films were completely different. After 'Kabir Singh' released and things worked out, people kept telling her how well she had performed, and she kept thinking that she had done nothing in it. She had put effort into 'Gold', but not into 'Kabir Singh'. That’s when she realized that you really don’t know what works and that there’s absolutely no formula to this.
Breakthrough and Recognition
Nikita gained recognition in Bollywood with her role in 'Gold', a sports drama about India’s first Olympic gold medal after independence, where she starred opposite Akshay Kumar. In the same year, she appeared in the popular romantic film 'Kabir Singh'. Although her role as Jia Sharma was brief, it earned her praise. These two films highlighted her acting skills and helped her secure a place in mainstream cinema.
