Pavan Malhotra coaches Farhan Akhtar

Actor Pavan Malhotra, who plays Milkha Singh’s coach, Gurudev Singh, in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, found the role emotionally challenging.
The actor says, “Gurudev and Milkha had a spiritual connect. Their relationship was like a guru-shishy one. To bring that across on screen was a challenge.”
In real life, Gurudev was the first one to spot Milkha’s talent who then started coaching him.In fact, the legendary athlete has dedicated all his medals to his Guru.
In order to know about his character in detail, Pavan even met Milkha. He says, “Milkha ji and his wife praised Gurudev Singh, saying he was like an elder brother. Putting across his whole journey on screen was very exciting.”
