Priyanka Chopra is neither 'frugal' nor does she squander money, reveals mother Madhu Chopra: ‘She’s very secure’

Priyanka Chopra, the renowned actress and entrepreneur, has been praised by her mother, Madhu Chopra, for her prudent financial management skills. Madhu Chopra, a doctor and also a producer, has been instrumental in guiding PeeCee through her career and financial decisions. According to Madhu, Priyanka has inherited her parents' sound financial planning skills, which include diversifying income and maintaining a backup plan.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Madhu emphasized the importance of diversifying income streams and allocating specific percentages for savings, home expenses, emergencies, and luxury. She explained how she managed cash transactions during her medical practice, setting aside some cash while depositing the rest into the bank. This cash was then invested, often in recurring deposits, as she lacked knowledge of Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs) at the time.
Madhu also highlighted the value of having a backup plan, which allowed them to take risks without fear. For instance, when they moved to Mumbai without jobs or a home, they had a financial cushion that provided security.

The ‘Desi Girl’s mom further said that she isn’t fully aware of Priyanka’s investment strategies, but “I know that she’s very secure.” She explained that Priyanka has inherited her parents' financial planning skills and knows how to manage money wisely. “Matlab fizool kharchi nahi. Frugal bhi nahi, but faltu squandering bhi nahi” (She is neither frugal nor squanders money). Madhu stressed the importance of having a backup plan in life, saying, “Jaise maine kaha, backup plan. Kisi jagah mein jao, kuchh bhi karo, ek backup plan toh hona hi chahiye” (Wherever you go, whatever you do, you must have a backup plan).
