In a recent interview, Khanna shared her thoughts on transitioning to new roles and industries, emphasizing that "scripts choose you" and her desire to take on stronger, more complex characters. "After, say, eight to nine years of working in the Telugu and Tamil film industries, I never planned that I would want to go to Bollywood or do Hindi films. Scripts choose you, and then you’re like, okay, let’s go ahead with this one. When Farzi came to me, it was a no-brainer for me because it was Raj & DK and Shahid Kapoor. I don’t have to think twice because I know the content will be great. Even when I did a Rudra: The Edge of Darkness with Ajay Devgn, the kind of character that I played there had a very negative shade, which I have never played before. I didn’t know how it would be taken. So it’s not like I planned that I would go into a different industry. It was not my decision. I just got pulled into it. I am happy that I’m getting the roles that I’ve always wanted to play—the stronger ones. When you grow as an actor, there is a certain responsibility to the fandom that you have. You feel that responsibility since they expect that you will give them something to watch out for," she said.
