Rakhi Vijan says her separation from Raveena Tandon’s brother Rajeev Tandon had nothing to do with the family: 'Raveena and I were like sisters'

Rakhi Vijan, who is known to many for lighting up TV screens in the 90s with shows like Hum Paanch and Dekh Bhai Dekh, recently opened up about her past relationship with Rajeev Tandon, brother of Raveena Tandon. Speaking to Bollywood Thikana, Rakhi made it clear that despite her marriage to Rajeev ending in 2010, her bond with Raveena remained untouched and strong.

“Raveena and I were like sisters. Let me make it clear. We were really good to each other. We would fight, make up, go to parties, enjoy and be loving towards each other,” Rakhi shared, reminiscing about their vibrant equation.
Despite the personal upheavals, Rakhi emphasized that there was never any bad blood with the Tandon family. In fact, she said she deliberately stayed away from the media over the years to avoid unnecessary speculation linking her separation to the rest of the family.
“I have tried to avoid the press because they always bring up my past and say something about the family," she said, highlighting the pressure of public attention.
‘There is no controversy,’ Rakhi clarifies
Making it clear that her marriage ending had nothing to do with Raveena or her parents, Rakhi spoke respectfully about her ex-husband as well. “The person I got married to is also good. We tried, and we separated only because our relationship didn’t work out. But that has got nothing to do with Raveena Tandon, her mother, her father. It was between a couple. So there is no controversy,” she said.

On the work front
Apart from her much-loved TV roles, Rakhi Vijan also dabbled in Bollywood films like Golmaal Returns, Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, and Krrish 3. She was also seen briefly in Bigg Boss season 2, though her stint lasted just 12 days.

Meanwhile, Raveena Tandon continues to remain busy on the work front. After starring in the films Patna Shuklla and Ghudchadi in 2024, and the web series Karmma Calling, she is all set to be seen in the much-anticipated Housefull 5.
