Samantha Ruth Prabhu reveals how she learnt about her myositis after shooting 'Koffee With Karan' with Akshay Kumar

Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently opened up about her divorce from ex-husband Naga Chaitanya and her shocking diagnosis with the autoimmune disease Myositis, which occurred the very next year after her separation from the Tollywood star.
In an interview with Galatta India, Samantha revealed that she started experiencing symptoms soon after filming 'Koffee With Karan'. She shared that it was a strange feeling she couldn't initially identify. After filming the chat show episode with Akshay Kumar, she was flying back to Hyderabad with her business partner, Himank Duvvuru.

Reflecting on that time, she described the past six months as extremely challenging, saying her world was turned upside down. Just eight months after her separation from Naga Chaitanya, during the flight, she felt an unusual sense of calm. “I told Himank that I feel a sense of calm and I’m ready now to work and focus on my career,” she shared. However, the very next day, while shooting for the Vijay Deverakonda-starrer 'Kushi', she experienced extreme fatigue, and her body shut down.
Samantha further explained that her condition began to deteriorate, and she was initially unaware of what was happening. It took her some time to understand her diagnosis, after which she decided to make it public.

During her 'Koffee With Karan' appearance in 2022, Samantha addressed her divorce with Naga Chaitanya. She revealed that they would have ended up hurting each other more if their marriage had continued.
On the work front, Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently shared the screen with Varun Dhawan in the action series 'Citadel: Honey Bunny', directed by Raj & DK.
