Mansore's 'ACT-1978', 'Dollu', 'Neeli Hakki' and 'Taledanda' to feature at IFFI 2021

The 2021 edition of the International Film Festival in India turns out to be a special event for Kannada cinema as not one but four different films shall be featured in the festival selection. MansoRe's vigilante thriller 'ACT-1978', 'Dollu' directed by Sagar Puranik, Ganesh Hegde's 'Neeli Hakki', and the Sanchari Vijay starrer 'Taledanda' (directed by Praveen Krupakar) will be screened as part of the Indian Panorama section.The upcoming festival will be the 52nd edition which is to be held in Goa between November 20th and 28th.
The feature film category, which comprises 24 feature films and 20 non-feature ones from across the world, will have veteran Kannada filmmaker S.V. Rajendra Singh Babu head the jury (along with 11 other members). The International Film Festival is organized in partnership with the govt. of Goa by the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry - according to recent reports, this year's edition will open with Semkhor (Dimasa language) for the feature-film category and the non-feature category will be opened with 'Ved...the visionary'.

With two of Sanchari Vijay's films - 'ACT-1978' and 'Taledanda' - being screened at IFFI, the event is bound to be a special one for all his colleagues, close associates, and fans. 'Talendanda', based on a play by Girish Karnad and directed by Praveen Krupakar, was released posthumously to good reception with many praising Vijay's portrayal of the central character. The very talented actor, who also played a key role in 'ACT-1978', passed away in a fatal motorcycle crash earlier this year.
