National award-winning actress
Aparna Balamurali faced inappropriate behaviour from a fan while promoting her upcoming film ‘Thankam’. The actress was attending a promotional event at a law college in Kerala, along with her co-star
Vineeth Sreenivasan, and musician Bijibal among others. In the video circulating on social media, a male student can be seen coming to the stage to welcome the actress, shaking her hand, and while she was seated he made her stand and forcefully tried to put his arm around her.
Aparna Balamurali discouraged the inappropriate behavior of the student on the spot, moved aside, and expressed displeasure. Her co-star Vineeth Sreenivasan too expressed displeasure.
As per the reports, the student who behaved inappropriately later apologized to the actress. Social media is flooded with videos of the incident, and netizens are lauding
Aparna Balamurali’s response.
Many netizens have condemned the act of the student, and stated that it isn’t okay to invade the personal space of an individual. “What an uncultured student. Saying sorry here is not a solution, need to be disciplined in life,” a netizen wrote. “Look at the people on the stage. You can clearly see they are expressing their irritation through their body language,” another netizen said.
Meanwhile, ‘Thankam’ is an upcoming film helmed by Saheed Arafath. Scripted by Syam Pushkaran, the film has actors
Biju Menon, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Aparna Balamurali, Girish Kulkarni, and Vineeth Thattil in lead roles. The film will hit the big screens on January 26.
