Director Jibu Jacob’s father Paulo Jacob passes away

Mollywood director-cinematographer Jibu Jacob’s father Paulo Jacob breathed his last on Wednesday, March 8. Paulo Jacob was 84. The funeral rites of Paulo Jacob will be held at St Mary’s Church, Njarackal on Thursday, March 9.

Meanwhile, Jibu Jacob made his entry into the Malayalam film industry as a cinematographer for the movie ‘Deepangal Sakshi’ which was released in the year 2005.Later he worked as a cinematographer for the films ‘Oruvan’, ‘Pranayakalam’, ‘Heart Beats’, ‘Shakespeare MA Malayalam’, ‘Oru Black & White Kudumbam’, ‘Cinema Company’, and several others.
As a director, Jibu Jacob stepped into the Malayalam film industry with the movie ‘Vellimoonga’ released in 2014. The movie had the actor Biju Menon in the lead role and was a successful venture for the year. The movie also featured the actors KPAC Lalitha, Aju Varghese, Tini Tom, and Nikki Galrani in significant roles.
Jibu Jacob also helmed the movies ‘Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol’, ‘Aadya Rathri’, and ‘Ellam Sheriyakum’.
Jibu Jacob’s previous outing was with the Suresh Gopi starrer comedy-drama movie ‘Mei Hoom Moosa’. The film turned out to be a super hit and also featured the actors Poonam Bajwa, Saiju Kurup, and Hareesh Kanaran in significant roles.
