Actors
Geetha Vijayan and Sridevika have raised allegations of harassment against senior Malayalam filmmaker Thulasidas.
The allegations come in the wake of the recently released Justice Hema Committee report. Sridevika has accused Thulasidas of harassing her while she was working with him in 2006 for his film ‘Avan Chandiyude Makan’ starring Prithviraj Sukumaran.
She revealed that the director repeatedly knocked on the door of her hotel room late at night for several days in a row.
She stated that she confirmed with the hotel reception that it was the director who was knocking at her door. She also revealed that she informed a fellow actor at the time, and that she and her mother had to move to a different room to avoid similar encounters with the director.
She further stated that after the incident Thulasidas started acting vindictively towards her, during the shoot, and even cut off her scenes and dialogues. The actress also lodged a formal complaint with the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), however, no action was taken.
Sridevika had even shared this incident on Facebook in 2018.
Following this revelation, popular actor Geetha Vijayan also shared some of her traumatic incidents of harassment she had to deal with, while working with Thulasidas. She divulged that the director harassed her while filming for his film ‘Chanchattam’ in 1991, where he incessantly kept ringing the doorbell of the hotel room. She also recollected that after repeated ringing, for several days, she confronted him, and he fled, however, he started acting vengefully during the shoot.
