Netizens puzzled; are Guru Somasundaram and Shelly a real-life couple now?

Some love stories really tug at your heart. And though Shibu is the psychopathic antagonist in Minnal Murali, his tender love for single mother Usha leaves you with a bittersweet feeling, and is one of the highlights of the movie. And will perhaps go down as one of the great movie love stories.
Of course, the romance was heightened thanks to the chemistry between actor Guru Somasundaram and Shelly N Kumar.When Shibu says, with a heart overwhelmed with happiness and a sheepish smile, that he had nursed his love for Usha for 28 years, it leaves the viewer reaching for tissues.
So when Aju Varghese posted a photo on social media of the duo with the caption, “And they are getting together, friends”, netizens got excited with several congratulating the couple. Shelly commented under the post with a “Aju, thank you so much”, while Guru shared it on his Instagram stories.

So, what is the real story? Are the reel couple coming together in real life? Shelly laughed and said a definite no, when we checked with her. “It is a prank by Aju. You should ask him what it is about,” said the actor, who has a son. When we reached out to the actor, who plays a policeman in the film, he spilled the beans, saying it was just meant as a light-hearted troll of his co-stars, and something for everyone to have a laugh over.
It looks like not all netizens fell for the joke, with some alluding to the characters and making their own jokes, asking if they are getting together in “the afterlife” and one saying, “let’s celebrate… they are getting together after 28 years.”
