Kerala Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) has imposed a temporary ban on actor
Sreenath Bhasi in the wake of the recent case against him for verbally abusing a female anchor during an interview. In a meeting held by the association on Tuesday (Sep 27), it was reportedly decided that the association would not co-operate with the actor for new projects. The decision was taken after the anchor lodged a complaint against Sreenath Bhasi before KFPA.
As per the association’s decision, Sreenath Bhasi won’t be included in new projects, however, he will be allowed to complete the existing projects. Meanwhile, Sreenath Bhasi reportedly appeared before the representatives of KFPA on Tuesday and accepted his mistake, and hence the association is limiting the disciplinary action to a temporary ban.
Sreenath Bhasi was arrested on Monday (Sep 26) after the female anchor lodged a complaint against him for verbal abuse. The actor allegedly verbally abused the female anchor and the crew of an entertainment portal while being interviewed for his upcoming film ‘Chattambi’. The actor was released on bail the same day.
Meanwhile, the police have also collected samples of Sreenath Bhasi’s hair, nails, and blood to find out whether he was under the influence of drugs during the controversial interview.
On the other hand, the KFPA has reportedly received another complaint that Sreenath Bhasi has collected additional remuneration for a film, thereby violating the agreement with the makers.
Social media is flooded with clips from Sreenath Bhasi’s interview with the female anchor. Another video of the actor using vulgar and obscene language against a radio jockey has surfaced on the internet, and netizens are expressing strong dissent.
