Rajeev Ravi's 'Thuramukham’ gets a new release date; to hit screens on December 24, 2021

Rajeev Ravi’s upcoming Nivin Pauly starrer film ‘Thuramukham’ finally announces its release date. The film will hit the theatres on December 24. Earlier, the makers had postponed the film's release date due to the wake of the covid crisis. The direction and cinematography for ‘Thuramukham’ will be handled by Rajeev Ravi itself, whereas the scripting part is done by Gopan Chidambaram.

It sees Nivin Pauly and Nimisha Sajayan in lead roles. Poornima Indrajith, Indrajith Sukumaran, Arjun Ashokan, Sudev Nair, Manikandan R. Achari, Darshana Rajendran. ‘Thuramukham’ got its premiere run at the 2021 International Film Festival Rotterdam.
‘Thuramukham’s core story idea was taken from, or could be said as inspired from, Gopan Chidambaram’s father K.M Chidambaram’s stage play with the same title. The story deals with the protests against ‘Chaappa’ system and other illegitimate labour systems which were prevailing at Cochin Mattancherry harbor areas during the period of 1940s and ’50s.

The anticipation for ‘Thuramukham’ is really high when you look at the quality level maintained by the director Rajeev Ravi through his previous works such as the 2016 Dulquer Salman starrer film ‘Kammattippadam’, 2013 film ‘Annayum Rassoolum’, in which Fahad Faasil and Andrea Jeremiah played the leading titular characters
