Based on M Mukundan’s eponymous story, the film is helmed by Harikumar. The lead actors Suraj Venjaramoodu and Ann Augustine play Sajeevan and Radhika respectively, a married couple. The trailer gives a glimpse into Sajeevan, an autorickshaw driver's life.

Scripted by M Mukundan, and directed by Harikumar, ‘Autorickshawkkarante Bharya’ also has actors Janardhanan, Manohari Joy, Kailash, Swasika, Sunil Sukhada, Mahesh, Neena Kurup, Devi Ajith, and Kabani in supporting roles.
On the technical front, Azhakappan has wielded the lens for the film, and Ayub Khan is in charge of the editing. Ousepachan composed the music for the film, and Prabhavarma penned the lyrics. Thyagu Thavanur is the art director, and the costumes are designed by Nisar Rahmath. Rahim Kodungallur is the makeup man.

Speaking to ETimes earlier, the director divulged about casting Suraj Venjaramoodu and Ann Augustine in the film. “I cannot envision someone other than Suraj Venjaramoodu to step into the shoes of Sajeevan. The character is strictly performance-oriented. There is much space for the actor to explore. Along with Sajeevan, Radhika too has a central character in the film. Both of them are equally important to the narrative as it was in M Mukundan’s story. Initially, during the discussions, a few names popped up, including some current favourites, but I felt Ann Augustine would be apt for the role of Radhika. She has been away from acting for a while now, so I think this would be a powerful re-entry for her as well,” he told us.
