Mollywood actor Unni Mukundan finds himself at the center of controversy yet again, this time surrounding his upcoming film ‘Jai Ganesh.’

Despite gearing up for the film's release, Unni Mukundan has been grappling with accusations and cyber attacks aimed at tarnishing his reputation.

In a recent promotional event, he candidly addressed the situation, asserting his right to defend himself against unjust allegations.

The actor, known for his outspoken nature on political and social issues, expressed his dismay over the attempts to stop his film's release. Unni Mukundan clarified that the title ‘Jai Ganesh’ holds no connection to the controversies stirred in its name. He emphasized that only upon watching the film would audiences realize the baselessness of the accusations levied against him.

Unni Mukundan revealed the pattern of controversy surrounding his work, citing examples from his past projects like ‘Meppadiyan’ and ‘Malikappuram.’ He said, “Why are you being blamed for a crime you didn’t commit?”
Undeterred by the controversies, Unni Mukundan reaffirmed his commitment to staying true to himself and his principles. He asserted that he would not compromise his personality or beliefs for the sake of a film, labeling such a compromise as the "biggest compromise" of his life.
For the unversed, the controversies surrounding ‘Jai Ganesh’ started when a group of people claimed that Unni Mukundan would be appearing as Lord Ganesha in the film. Later the director himself revealed in a statement that the title of the film has no relation with ‘Lord Ganesha’.
Directed by Ranjith Sankar, 'Jai Ganesh' boasts a talented cast including Unni Mukundan, Mahima Nambiar, Ravindra Vijay, and Jomol in pivotal roles. Despite the challenges posed by the controversies, the film is set to hit theaters on April 11.
