Unni Mukundan’s ‘Shefeekkinte Santhosham’ to start rolling soon

After the success of ‘Meppadiyan’, Unni Mukundan is all set to step into his next titled ‘Shefeekkinte Santhosham’, directed by debutant Anup Pandalam. The film will go on floors on Saturday (Apr 16) and the makers have confirmed the same. Unni Mukundan is playing the titular role, while actors Manoj K Jayan, Divya Pillai, Bala, Athmiya Rajan, Shaheen Sidhique, Mithun Ramesh, Sminu Sijo, and, Jordy Poonjar will be seen in some pivotal roles in the film.
Unni Mukundan himself is backing the project and in his latest social media note, the actor said, “UMF to start its second production venture, Shafeekinte Santhosham on the 16th of this month. Expecting your support and goodwill. It’s a romantic comedy, a family entertainer!”

Unni Mukundan will be playing Shefeek, a Dubai returnee, who finds happiness in helping others. The debutant director has confirmed that the film will be filled with comic moments. “It is true that Unni is considered more as a mass film hero. But while this will be quite a departure from his usual roles, Unni, in fact, has a great sense of humour and really enjoys comedy, so is a perfect fit for the role. As it has a rural setting, there are several interesting village characters in it as well. As the presenter of a comic show, I have a finger on the pulse of the audience and understand that a good section of them enjoy comedy,” the director said in a previous interview with Kochi Times.
