Vijay Babu faces flak from Malayalis for seeking 'fair' and 'thin' actor for his next film on social media

"Fair, thin and handsome guy wanted," thus goes the casting call of Friday film house's next project. Though the team has posted it with a good intention to communicate their need in the right way and find the apt actor, the social media have not taken it really well. The actor-producer Vijay Babu who owns the production house is being trolled and trashed by the internet savvy Malayalis since Monday claiming that his casting cal post promotes colourism.
Comments under his posts include name-calling the team as racists and colorists. Some have even asked whether only fair people can become actors. "Can't dark people act?" they ask asserting that Kerala is still colour prejudiced.
