Actor director Joy Mathew has always spoken out his opinions on social issues, and his latest post has to do with the stray dog issue. The first question we need to ask ourselves before wondering what to do with stray dogs is, how the strays, which were gentler than the ‘breeds brought in by white skinned people’ became so aggressive, he says. “From what I see, they turned bloodthirsty after feeding on the bloody waste disposed from slaughter houses, hotels and hospitals by us Malayalis who call themselves ‘modern.’ Who is to blame? Us or those whom we elected to power, who seem to think that the need of the hour is metro development and not garbage disposal.”
Joy Mathew has also lashed out against Maneka Gandhi, for daring to advocate sterilisation of stray dogs when she couldn’t stop her husband Sanjay Gandhi from forcefully sterilising poverty stricken youth on the streets during the Emergency, treating them like stray dogs.
