Mausam lyrical video from Innu Muthal showcases a beautiful rendition by Javed Ali

The lyrical video of Mausam, a song from the Siju Wilson starrer Innu Muthal was launched on social media and what a treat for music buffs. Javed Ali’s mesmerising voice blends Hindustani classical with a beautiful melody to create a song that is transporting.
Javed Ali, famed for his semi-classical and Sufi-style renditions for Bollywood films such as Rockstar and Delhi 6, brings the same soulful quality to Mausam.The music for Innu Muthal has been composed by Mejjo Joseph, of Traffic and ℅ Saira Banu fame. The lyrics are by Sharon Joseph.
Why a song in Hindi? Rejishh Midhila, who is helming the project says, “A central character, portrayed by Bollywood actor Uday Chandra, in the film is a north Indian man. Part of the story is told through the journey to his hometown and that is why we have this song in Hindi.” Siju plays a cab driver in the film, which is a fantasy satire on religion.
Speaking to us earlier when the trailer was released in December, Rejishh, who has also scripted and co-produced the film, had said, “Innu Muthal looks at our beliefs and how we perceive God. The movie is seen from God’s point of view; why should God grant us the wishes we put into our prayer, and who decided what are the rituals to follow when we pray to God? Since it is a fantasy, we have put a lot of effort into VFX.” The filmmaker says the theatre release date will be announced soon.
