Maharashtrian politics has been portrayed on screen many times. The latest, Nagrsevak – Ek Nayak, is set to hit screens on March 31. Directed by
Deepak Kadam, the Jash Pictures presented and
Shashikant Chaudhary and Jayashree Chaudhary produced film is the story of a young man, Malhar
, played by
Upendra Limaye, who stands up against injustice. Having just arrived in Mumbai, Malhar is unexpectedly drawn into politics and subsequent events force him to contest in the elections.
Nagarsevak intends to give the audience a realistic depiction of the various moves and counter moves in politics.
The cast includes Upendra Limaye, Neha Pendse, Sayaji Shinde, Ganesh Yadav, Sunil Tawde, Sanjay Khapre, Vijay Nikam, Shyam Thombre, Savita Malpekar, Triyog Mantri, Priyanka Nagre, Abhijeet Kulkarni, Ashok Pawde, Yash Kadam, Varsha Dhandle and Mayuri Deshmukh. The story is by Bipin Dhaigude and Abhijeet Kulkarni, dialogues are written by Yogesh Markhande along with Bipin Dhaigude and Abhijeet Kulkarni, cinematography is by Triloki Chaudhary, editing is by Subodh Narkar and art direction by Madhu Kamble.
Four songs have been written by lyricists Bipin Dhaigude, Abhijeet Kulkarni and Vinayak Yerapaalle and have been set to music by Dev Ashish, with Kunal Ganjawala, Bela Shende, Anand Shinde and Adarsh Shinde's voices. And while the title song has been rendered by Kavita Nikam, Raja Hasan and Dev Chauhan, an item number by Kavita Nikam and
Dev Chauhan is also in the mix.
