Rahul Madhav who started out in Tamil is slowly gaining a footing in native grounds- Mollywood He debuted on the small screen through commercials like that of Bru Coffee. But they turned lucky for him, as he was noticed in the quite funny and creative ads. Rahul Madhav was picked up by Tamil director M Prabhu after seeing the ads and he went on to play second lead in Prabhu's Adhe Neram, Adhe Idam with 'Subramaniapuram' fame Jai.
Rahul will be seen in Tamil next in Sribavensekhar's '
Yugam' where he plays the lead opposite actress Deepthi."Yugam is a very different kind of movie, a psychological thriller. The whole movie happens in the course of a single day. Deepthi and me play a newly-wed couple who start doubting each other." By now Rahul is quite a familiar face to the Malayalam industry as well. "I spent the last ten odd years in Tamil Nadu but I'm a Malayali by birth, a Kochiite, and have always loved Malayalam movies," he says. Rahul debuted in Malayalam through 'Vadamalli,' a romance starring Bhima ad fame Richa Panai. "Watch out for the spectacular visuals in the movie. The technical crew is really talented and reputed." In the recently released 'Bangkok Summer,' Rahul plays a rural character, almost a country bumpkin, who finds himself lost in Bangkok. The brown eyed actor has a few more movies coming up in Malayalam like Anil Thomas' 'Crime Story' and 'Track.' "I'm really glad I got a break in movies. In a commercial, the focus is always on the product and never on the actors. Movies give you the space to create a character. I also feel that one should be very proficient in the language in which one acts. I'm trying to improve my Malayalam, which needs some brushing up as I was out of Kerala all these years," Rahul signs off at the pooja of 'Crime Story.'
