Ann Augustine who once dreamt of becoming a clinical psychologist is happy about her decision to embrace movies.Though from a film background, the daughter of actor Augustine never dreamt of wearing the grease paint. I never thought I will enter tinseltown. My interest was always been psychology, says the actor who wanted to do her masters abroad.
I was looking forward to a scholarship to study psychology abroad. That was when Elsamma... happened, she says.
Ann thought of doing just one movie and then going ahead with her plans. But as sheer luck would have it, Elsamma Enna Aankutty became a hit and offers started pouring in. I am enjoying what I am doing now. I have learnt that its not just glitz and glamour but a lot of hard-work as well.
The young actor was recently in Kochi for the pooja of her upcoming movie Ordinary. Directed by Sugeeth, the movie will see her playing Anna, a charming post-woman. She is happy that after Elsamma she got a character which she can relate to. After Elsamma, I never felt myself in the roles I did. But with Anna, I feel close to the character.
Ann has been associated with many debut directors. She says she doesnt have any reservations in acting for a debut directors project. I feel they understand you better. I am a bit scared with senior directors. I have that respect and awe for them. But with a newcomer I am more relaxed.
However, Ann says she is choosy. I always ask myself, will I be able to do it? I take up the project based on that faith! She finds it easy to work with people whom she knows. The best thing about Ordinary is that Sugeeth has a positive vibe about him.
Ann knows that she is not going to be in this profession for long. You need a lot of luck to survive in this industry, she says. So, does she believe in being lucky? Of course, I believe in luck and destiny!
