Vidaarth, who played the lead role in
Vetri Duraisamy’s directorial debut, Endraavathu Oru Naal, spoke to us about the tragedy and why he remains confident that the filmmaker will be found alive. “Vetri will definitely come back soon. I have great confidence in his ability to survive. As someone who is passionate about wildlife photography, he has witnessed a great deal of adventure and this is going to be one such thing,” states Vidaarth.
The actor believes that kindness that
Vetri and his father, former Chennai mayor Saidai Duraisamy, have shown many will ensure that no harm comes his way.
“Even though he is from a family with a huge political background, Vetri has helped many people who were truly in need and is incredibly giving and humble,” he adds.
The actor states that they became friends while working on their film and remain so even after its release. “We used to get together frequently and our friendship only grew after the shoot of Endraavathu Oru Naal,” he informs.
What happened?Vetri Duraisamy (45) has been missing after the car in which he was travelling with his friend slipped into the Sutlej river in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, on Sunday. While the car has been found, and the driver declared dead, and Vetri’s friend, Gopinath, has been found alive. Vetri remains missing until the time of going to print.
