Manikandan to play a middle-class man in his next project

We had earlier reported that Manikandan and Tollywood actress Saanve Megghana will be playing the leads in a fam-com directed by YouTuber Rajeshwar Kalisamy. The film has now officially been titled Kudumbasthan, which translates to the life of a family man.
Rajeshwar says that his feature film debut will revolve around a newly married middleclass man from Coimbatore struggling to manage his work-life balance. He shares, “The film explores how the protagonist strives to grow in life while juggling the responsibilities of being a family man and fulfilling his wife’s dreams.”
“It also addresses the pressures of society that come with being a family man, and the film is filled with a lot of humour comedy,” he adds.
“Similar to how there is a woman behind the success of a man, there is a man behind the success of a woman, which will be the core element of the story. It doesn’t address toxic relationships but focuses on the joyful moments of life’s jour ney,” reveals the director.
Rajeshwar tells us that he believes in the saying, ‘The more regional the story, the more universal it is.’ He further shares that the city where the story takes place plays a key character in the film and adds, “Kudumbasthan is entirely set in Coimbatore, and the city acts as a character in the story.”
