Nayanthara and director
Sundar C are all set to collaborate on the much-anticipated sequel, 'Mookuthi Amman 2'. The makers have officially confirmed that production will commence on March 6, with a pooja ceremony scheduled to take place in Chennai at 9 PM.
The production house took to their official X (formerly Twitter) account to share a video of Sundar C and his wife, actress
Kushboo Sundar, receiving a hamper containing the movie’s puja ceremony invitation card from the producer. “A massive cinematic journey begins with spiritual vibes! Producer Ishari K. Ganesh officially kickstarts the next big thing with #SundarC! The wait is over—here we go! #MookuthiAmman2.” Nayanthara’s iconic Devi look was printed on the special gift hamper given to Sundar and Kushboo.
Released in 2020, Mookuthi Amman was helmed by
RJ Balaji and N. J. Saravanan. The fantasy-comedy film starred Nayanthara as a divine figure and cleverly used humour and satire to expose fraudulent godmen, earning widespread acclaim.
RJ Balaji, Urvashi, Smruthi Venkat, Madhu Mailankody, Abinaya, Moulee, and Ajay Ghosh played key roles in the film. Mookuthi Amman premiered on OTT on November 14, 2020.
Meanwhile, Nayanthara has now shared an official note on her X (formerly Twitter) account, announcing her decision to drop the title ‘Lady Superstar’ as she wishes to embrace her true identity as Nayanthara. The Jawan actress requested fans and the media to refrain from using the title while expressing gratitude for their love and support.
On the work front, Nayanthara will next be seen in 'Test' alongside Siddharth, Meera Jasmine, and R. Madhavan. Her upcoming projects also include 'Mannangatti Since 1960', 'Dear Students', and 'MMMN', where she will star alongside
Mammootty and Mohanlal.
