Shihan Hussaini, a multi-talented martial arts expert, archer, sculptor, actor, and presenter, opened up about his battle with cancer. Known for his versatile talents and contributions both on and off-screen, Hussaini has garnered a significant fan following over the years. However, his revelation about suffering from blood cancer and aplastic anemia came as a shock to many.
Speaking to Galatta, Shihan Hussaini expressed the emotional and physical struggles he faces daily. Despite his condition, he remains deeply connected to his passions, martial arts and archery. "Every day is a battle, but I am a fighter trained in karate. I cannot let cancer distance me from what I love," he shared. Highlighting his need for two units of blood daily, Hussaini revealed that he plans to sell his training center, which he considers sacred, to ensure his care until his last days. He made an emotional appeal to his former student,
Pawan Kalyan, to purchase the center and preserve its legacy.
"I named him Pawan, and I believe he will hear my words. I hope he will buy the center and continue its operations. He has reached great heights and is now a Deputy Chief Minister, but I remember him from the days when he trained under me, cleaned the center, and served me tea," Hussaini recalled. He emphasized their shared dream of spreading martial arts and archery far and wide and hoped Pawan Kalyan would help realize this vision by keeping the center alive.
Shihan Hussaini also directed a heartfelt request to actor-turned-politician Vijay, who trained under him for the 'Badri' film, a remake of Pawan Kalyan’s 'Thammudu.' As a passionate archery trainer, Shihan Hussaini has always dreamed of nurturing an Olympic medalist and enhancing Tamil Nadu’s sports representation. "I wish Vijay would support my vision of having an archery enthusiast in every Tamil household and ensure that someone from the state represents the nation at the Olympics," he said.
Shihan Hussaini, who made his acting debut in 'Punnagai Mannan,' has worked with leading stars like Rajinikanth,
Vijay Sethupathi, and Vijay throughout his career. He was last seen on big screens in
Vignesh Shivan's 'Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kadhal'.
