Tamil composers rope in contemporaries for albums
Music directors singing in albums for which they are composing the score is nothing new. But now, the latest trend in Kollywood is for the music director to opt for a contemporary to sing for the album he���s scoring the music for. The most recent example being when Maryan music director AR Rahman asked for Yuvan Shankar Raja to lend his voice for the film. Times of India captures the trend.
Ilayaraja for Karthik Raja The Maestro recently recorded a number with his son Karthik Raja.

He has rendered the song, along with Yuvan and Karthik Raja, for the latter���s up coming film Vaarayo Vennilave.
Yuvan Shankar Raja for A R Rahman When AR Rahman didn���t like the way the Kadal Raasa... number in his Maryan sounded, he rang up Yuvan Shankar Raja late in the night to ask if he could render the number for him. This rustic track has delighted music fans across the globe. Interestingly, Yuvan has also sung for several other music composers, including his father Ilaiyaraaja, brother Karthik Raja and good friend Dharan.
G V Prakash for Raghunanthan The young composer sang Para Para in the latter���s album Neerparavai. Though the song was in news for its lyrics, GV���s soulful rendition was applauded by many, making the song an instant chartbuster. The youngster has earlier sung for Harris Jayaraj in Anniyan (Kadhal Yaanai) and the title song of Thiruda Thiruda for A R Rahman before he became a composer.
