Music directors singing in albums for which they are composing the score is nothing new. But now, the latest trend in Kollywood is for the music director to opt for a contemporary to sing for the album he���s scoring the music for. The most recent example being when Maryan music director AR Rahman asked for Yuvan Shankar Raja to lend his voice for the film. Maryan sounded, he rang up Yuvan Shankar Raja late in the night to ask if he could render the number for him. This rustic track has delighted music fans across the globe. Interestingly, Yuvan has also sung for several other music composers, including his father Ilaiyaraaja, brother Karthik Raja and good friend Dharan.
