Venkat Prabhu hints at 'GOAT' sequel
Thalapathy Vijay has been in the spotlight ever since he announced his decision to conclude his acting career and fully dedicate himself to politics. Currently, he is deeply involved in the shooting of his final film, 'Jana Nayagan', directed by H. Vinoth. This political action thriller is seen as a reflection of both the culmination of Vijay’s cinematic journey and the beginning of his political career.

Meanwhile, Venkat Prabhu, who directed Vijay's 'The Greatest Of All Time' (GOAT) in 2024, shared an interesting update regarding the sequel. During a recent award event, he was asked about the possibility of proceeding with the sequel, tentatively titled GOAT vs OG, especially considering Vijay’s decision to step away from films. In response, Venkat Prabhu humorously said, “I will give the 'GOAT' vs 'OG' update after 2026.” This statement was perceived by fans as a subtle reference to Vijay’s political journey, suggesting that updates regarding the sequel would only be possible after Vijay establishes his footing in politics.
Several rumors have also been circulating regarding 'Jana Nayagan'. According to reports, acclaimed directors Lokesh Kanagaraj, Atlee, and Nelson Dilipkumar might make special cameo appearances in the film. As per Valai Pechu, these cameos are expected to be featured in a song symbolizing Vijay’s transition from cinema to politics. However, the makers have not officially confirmed this information.
Thalapathy Vijay elaborated on his decision to leave the cinema and dedicate himself to politics multiple times through his latest speeches. In his latest political event, Vijay stated, “I have thrown away the peak of my career, and I have thrown away the salary... I'm here as your VIJAY with trust in you all.” His speech affirmed his commitment to dedicating his life to the welfare of the Tamil people.
