Director Shakthivel Perumalsamy of Urumeen fame is quite excited about starting work on his next — an emotional drama starring Vidaarth,
Karunakaran, and Lakshmipriyaa Chandramouli. Ask him what the film is about, and he says, “What happens when two people’s lives get intertwined? Though the line is simple, there are several layers to the story. The film is inspired by true incidents.
Freedom is subjective, right? You can do whatever you want with your life, but if you happen to meddle with the lives of others, then you are in trouble. In the film, we will also be touching upon how phones have taken over our lives. This is an emotional film with a very strong message.”
Sakthivel says he wanted actors who could shoulder the film on their own. “A film like this is driven by performances and I needed solid actors. Vidaarth is a phenomenal actor and so are Lakshmi and Karunakaran, who have been proving their mettle with every film. When you have a film with a message, you need someone convincing to tell it. I feel this cast is apt for a film like this,” he informs.
The yet-to-be-titled film, bankrolled by T Vijaya Ragavendra, also has
Prem Kumar,
Sarithiran, and Kavithalaya Krishnan in important roles. “We have also chosen artistes from various theatre groups. We are starting the shoot today and will wrap up by the end of August,” he says. Achu Rajamami has been roped in as the music composer for the film.
